Ghawi-0057-EditDima Ghawi is a dynamic speaker and inspiring leader.  Her multi-cultural business experience with Fortune 500 companies in assignments throughout the United States, Asia, Europe and the Middle-East, has positioned her as an expert on the talent development needs of the global workforce.  She has taught and consulted on a wide range of areas, such as Global Leadership, Strategy and Operations, and Supply Chain Management.

Her passion for educating has lead her to initiate and deliver seminars on leadership topics to corporate professionals globally, formulate an alliance with top universities through lectures to both professors and students on the global skills required to succeed.  She also serves on Industry Advisory Boards for several universities.

With a deep desire to give back to the professional community and to connect on a personal level, Dima recently spoke at high profile events:

  • Keynote speaker at the 16th Annual Global Women Leadership Conference in the United Arab Emirates on the importance of women to economic development, and encouraging them to participate in global business.
  • Presented at the United Nations Headquarters in South Africa after completing a six months project dedicated to the empowerment of women entrepreneurs in rural areas.
  • Traveled globally and taught courses for a Fortune 100 company on “Initiating and Managing Global Relationships”. Dima conducted the trainings in Japan, India, China, United Arab Emirates, Germany, Hungary, Bulgaria, the US, and Canada.

Dima is currently the Talent Development Manager for IBM at the new Baton Rouge Services Center.  In this role, she is responsible for implementing training programs for new employees.  She also leads the community relations and outreach activities.   She works with local universities and helps them with development programs in topics focused on soft skills, such as communication, public speaking, and interpersonal skills, in order to enable the students to be well rounded as they graduate.

Dima emigrated from her home country of  Jordan in l996 to pursue her passion for education and leadership.  She holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration from the University of San Diego and an undergraduate degree in Economics from San Diego State University.  She was recognized by these institutions with awards for Leadership and Service.
